2. Setting up a new project:
If possible, we prefer to meet with investigators to discuss their project prior to the start of the project. For high throughput data, such as gene expression experiments, it is important to have an experimental plan that includes experimental replicas and a clear idea of what kinds of information or hypotheses are of interest. There are very large number of approaches that can be taken in the analysis of data that should also be discussed.
3. Cost/Fees:
The minimum cost for data analysis project is $400-800, for consultation and data analysis. Beyond 2 days effort, we charge at a rate of $40 per hour. Services often consist of free consultation to assist a graduate student or postdoctoral fellow with their project, or to write a letter of support for a grant. In many cases, our services are best utilized by our participating on an existing grant or newly proposed study, which we help to write, including a budget that supports our staff.
