Short Bio: 
Marlon A. Guerrero, MD joined the department of surgery in July 2009 as Director of Endocrine Surgery and Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Section of Surgical Oncology. Dr. Guerrero received his BS in Biology from California State University, East Bay after graduating Cum laude. He earned his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN where he was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed his general surgery residency from the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX where he was awarded the St. Luke’s Hospital Resident of the Year award in 2005.
 
Dr. Guerrero became interested in treating endocrine tumors and disorders after his training at the MD Anderson Cancer Center. From there, he entered a prestigious Endocrine Surgery Fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco under the mentorship of the legendary Dr. Orlo H. Clark. After completing his fellowship, he was recruited to join the Surgical Oncology Section at the University of Arizona.

Dr. Guerrero is specialized in open, laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery. His specialty training allows him to perform the most complex endocrine operations, including reoperative neck and abdomen operations.
