Short Bio: 

Dr. Bishop is an Associate Professor of Medicine, Clinical Scholar Track, in the Department of Medicine, at the University of Arizona, and a member of The University of Arizona Cancer Center in Tucson. She also is the Acting Chief of the Section of Hematology/Oncology at the Southern Arizona Veterans Administration Health Care System. She specializes in treatment of breast and brain cancers, as well as end-of-life care.

Dr. Bishop earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a medical degree from The University of Arizona, where she also completed her residency and fellowship programs.

Dr. Bishop teaches at the pre- and postdoctoral levels. She was on the 2002 Dean's List for Excellence in Teaching in the Clinical Sciences. Dr. Bishop is also a Faculty Mentor for the Societies Program at The University of Arizona College of Medicine. The program is a four-year, integrated curriculum initiated to teach clinical skills and provide longitudinal clinical mentoring for students at the College of Medicine.

Dr. Bishop is one of only a few internists/oncologists working on end-of-life care programs that use a variety of information and communications technologies. 

Dr. Bishop is board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hospice and palliative medicine.
