¡VIDA! The 7th Annual Mujer Latina Breast Cancer Conference, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 6th is a collaborative community effort that will offer bilingual Spanish/English information for breast cancer survivors and all Latinas interested in learning about breast health and breast cancer.
The program this year will include information on early cancer screening, risk factors, survivorship and special workshops for men and adolescents.
The conference is initiated by Ana Maria Lopez, MD, MPH, associate dean of outreach and multicultural affairs and professor of medicine and pathology at the University of Arizona and the University of Arizona Cancer Center.
The event will take place at Apollo Community School, 265 W. Nebraska St.
Admission is free, but advanced registration is suggested. Register online at www.vida.arizona.edu or by calling Angela Valencia at 520-626-0331. Breakfast and lunch will be served.
The conference is supported by the Southern Arizona Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
