In preparation for the 13th Annual Race for the Cure, three experts joined the Arizona Illustrated studio to talk about the latest breast cancer research and what remains to be done to beat this still-deadly disease.
University of Arizona cellular biology professor and Arizona Cancer Center member Patricia Thompson, PhD, nutritional sciences associate professor and Cancer Center member Cynthia A. Thomson, PhD, RD, CSO, and Jaimie Leopold, executive director of Southern Arizona's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, say that while a cure is closer than ever, early detection is still the key to survival.
