Arizona Cancer Center member Joanne M. Jeter, MD, has received a 2010 National Institutes of Health Merit Award for her membership on the PDQ (Physician Data Query) Cancer Genetics Editorial Board. Dr. Jeter is a member of the Arizona Cancer Center’s High-Risk Cancer Genetics clinical team.
Dr. Jeter was honored Nov. 4 at the National Cancer Institute Director’s Awards Ceremony in Bethesda, Md. NCI Director Harold Varmus, MD, presented the awards.
The Editorial Board was cited for its "dedication and exceptional service to NCI in developing and maintaining evidence-based PDQ cancer information summaries for health professionals and the public."
Dr. Jeter specializes in breast cancer and melanoma. Her research focuses on cancer prevention and control. She is an assistant professor of clinical medicine at the University of Arizona’s College of Medicine. She is board certified by the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
