Emad Elquza named medical director at Orange Grove

Emad Elquza, MD, has been named medical director at Arizona Cancer Center at UMC Orange Grove, 1981 W. Orange Grove Rd.

Dr. Elquza most recently was chief fellow in the department of hematology and oncology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, where he served a three-year fellowship. He completed a residency and an internship in internal medicine at the UA. Committed to education, Dr. Elquza was awarded the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society resident teaching award and was recognized on the Dean’s List for Excellence in Teaching by a Houseofficer.

A native of Los Angeles, Dr. Elquza is a graduate of the University of Southern California and received his medical degree from the Flinders University School of Medicine in Adelaide, Australia. He is actively involved in research and his interests include the study of stem cell mobilization in patients treated with bone marrow transplantation.

He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is board eligible in the subspecialties of hematology and oncology. Dr. Elquza will hold clinic at the Orange Grove facility and is accepting patients. In addition, he will have a clinic at the Arizona Cancer Center at UMC North focused on the treatment of prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Arizona Cancer Center physicians hold clinics at the Orange Grove facility in the specialties of medical oncology, surgical oncology, hematology and breast surgery. The Arizona Cancer Center provides state of the art, research-driven, evidence-based multidisciplinary cancer care.

An expansion of the facility, at the southwest corner of North La Cholla Boulevard and West Orange Grove Road, will add 12,000 square feet to house a radiation oncology facility with state-of-the-art precision technology. The expanded facility will be staffed by UA Department of Radiation Oncology faculty.
