The Arizona Cancer Center invites the public to take a glimpse into the workings of a comprehensive cancer center and learn about the research driving the future of cancer prevention, treatment and cure.
Day of Discovery scientists will provide a short overview of the latest information and research regarding cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and the future of cancer care: individualized medicine. Participants will also have the opportunity to visit a working research laboratory for hands-on demonstrations and short presentations about the lab's research focus.
Day of Discovery: Science at the Center 2009 will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Check-in and continental breakfast at 9 a.m.
The event is free and open to the public ages 16 and older, but reservations are required.

The Arizona Cancer Center is the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center headquartered in Arizona.
