The Skin Cancer Institute at the Arizona Cancer Center will sponsor a talk and co-sponsor a walkathon to highlight melanoma prevention, detection and treatment.
Lee Cranmer, MD, PhD, a medical oncologist and researcher specializing in melanoma, will discuss the latest information on melanoma on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. at Kiewit Auditorium at the Arizona Cancer Center, 1515 N. Campbell Ave. The event and parking in the adjacent University Medical Center garage are free.
The Skin Cancer Institute is partnering with the Melanoma International Foundation to host the Safe from the Sun Walkathon for Melanoma Awareness on Saturday, Oct. 10. The two-mile late afternoon walk, health and wellness expo and free skin cancer screening event will raise funds to support melanoma research, prevention programming and patient support services. The event will be held at the Arizona Cancer Center at UMC North, 3838 N. Campbell Ave. from 3 to 6 p.m.
