Thomas Miller, MD, professor of medicine at the University of Arizona and director of the UACC's Division of Hematology/Oncology, will provide a lymphoma overview at the Lymphoma Research Foundation's annual Arizona Lymphoma Workshop in Scottsdale March 8.
Dr. Miller, who has been the program's conference chair for many years, also will deliver a special lecture: "30 Years in Lymphoma Research: Successes and Progress" following lunch.
This free event is for people with lymphoma and their loved ones for understanding lymphoma basics and current treatment options. The daylong event will be held at the Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center, 7700 E. McCormick Parkway.
Other UACC Lymphoma Program faculty and staff participating include:
- Daniel Persky, MD, will lead a discussion about Hodgkin Lymphoma
- Soham Puvvada, MD, will talk about Mantel Cell Lymphoma
- Nikki Barkett, RN, will talk about managing treatment side effects
- Dr. Miller's break-out session discussion is on Agressive Non-Hogkin Lymphoma.
Other topics include current therapies, clinical trials,cutaneous lymphoma, nutrition and transplant options.There will be a total of seven concurrent disease-specific breakout sessions.
