In 1986, a small group of inspirational Phoenix women organized a dinner and auction. The event raised more than $13,000 for cancer research and launched a volunteer organization called Phoenix Friends of the University of Arizona Cancer Center.
Since that inaugural event, the Phoenix Friends have raised more than $5 million to support the University of Arizona Cancer Center’s research and service throughout Arizona!

The University of Arizona Cancer Center wishes to thank our Phoenix Friends for a memorable, fun and wonderfully successful An Evening with the Friends gala on March 31, 2012 at the Phoenician. Help us support the outstanding tradition of so many generous women and join the Friends for the 27th annual An Evening with the Friends gala in Spring 2013 to raise funds and support the cancer center's mission to prevent and cure cancer. In addition to experiencing the joy of giving, you will enjoy an evening of friendship and the most imaginative and spirited silent auction in the Valley.

The monies raised by the Phoenix Friends in 2011 funded the further implementation of OnCore®, an award-winning clinical trial online database.
