Career Opportunities

Taking Cancer CARE Personally. We have more than 20 medical oncologists and hematologists who provide expert personalized care through multidisciplinary teams, working together, under one organization, as the only cancer center in the State of Arizona to receive comprehensive designation by the National Cancer Institute. New patients receive tailored treatment recommendations, whether just visiting for a second opinion or considering transfer of care. Outside pathology slides and imaging studies are carefully reviewed as part of the initial evaluation. Appointments can generally be scheduled within one week, or sooner, if clinically indicated, at our clinics on North Campbell Avenue or Orange Grove Road.

Taking Cancer RESEARCH Personally. We offer our patients the opportunity to participate in clinical research studies sponsored by the National Cancer Institute and pharmaceutical industry, including many studies with novel molecular-targeted biologic agents, as well as new chemotherapy regimens. Study selections are tailored for the individual patient, taking many factors into consideration, including the type of cancer, previous treatment history and general health. Our investigators have leadership roles in national cooperative groups and also participate in NCI-funded Specialized Programs of Research Excellence (SPORE) in Lymphoma and Colorectal Cancer. We also maintain an active Phase I program that includes first-in-human studies with new agents. 

Taking Cancer PREVENTION Personally. Patients and family members can receive risk counseling with genetic screening, mammography, colonoscopy, prostate examinations, Pap smears, and other preventive interventions, as appropriate.

Taking Cancer EDUCATION Personally. We maintain a high-quality accredited fellowship training program leading to certification in medical oncology and/or hematology, with balanced opportunities for primary oncology care, inpatient service, consultations, and research. Between nine and 12 Fellows participate in the three-year program at any one time. In addition, we are one of the few centers offering an NCI-supported fellowship in cancer prevention.
